Common Glass Repair FAQs We Have Been Asked Over The Years…

Yes,

Scratched glass can be repaired.

It’s what we do every day of the week!

Not only is it much cheaper (on average around 80% cheaper) than replacing the glass, it’s also much easier and quicker.

Your glass can be repaired in a matter of hours compared to the days or even weeks it takes to order new glass and then have it made, delivered and installed

This depends on who you get to repair your glass…

Using ClearAll GLASS REPAIRS (or any other reputable glass repair company) the answer is No, You will not be able to see any difference between an area that has been repaired and an area that hasn’t.

Although extremely rare, incorrect fitting, packing, placement of internal space bars, edge faults or faults within the makeup of the glass can cause glass to crack or shatter when pressure and heat is applied.

This is increased when working close to the edge of the frame (typically within 30mm).

If a breakage occurs no charges will be made for works carried out on said panes.

ClearAll GLASS REPAIRS LTD will also not be responsible for replacement or any costs relating to replacement of broken glass.

Yes and no.

The only types of glass that are not suited to polishing are textured, coated or filmed glass.

The polishing process will remove the damage but it will also remove the texture, coating or film leaving a smooth / uncoated area where the glass was repaired.

All types of glass, be they laminated, toughened, float or even ballistic, are able to be repaired.

We also work on glass table tops, glass balustrades, mirrors, shower screens, fish tanks, skylights, classic car glass, marine glass, shop fronts, smart tables, induction hobs, shop counter tops…

Got something not on the list…

The deeper the scratch or depth of the damage the longer the job will take but the glass can still be repaired

Yes.

Just like as with any scratch damage, glass with these type of problems can be repaired

Yes.

Just like any other type of flat glass, we are also able to remove glass scratches from mirrors.

Yes.

The tint is essentially part of the glass and isn’t just on the surface meaning it isn’t affected by the repair process

No.

It actually strengthens the glass!

Imagine the scratch is a weak point on the glass, by removing the scratch you remove the weakness!

By repairing the glass you are essentially cutting out the need to produce more glass, as well as the mining, refining and transportation of its raw components and transportation of the finished product.

In the production of glass alone a glass furnace is used for 24 hours a day and not only does it consume a massive amount of energy, it also produces 605 kg of CO2 (carbon dioxide) for every 1000 kg of glass produced, which is well over half the weight of the glass.

CO2 produced from glass repair… 0 kg!
